Yes, that’s my name. No, that’s not how you pronounce it. Yes, there IS supposed to be a Z in there. No, I do not have an accent.
My name is Dzido (G-Doe). It rhymes with Speedo, is mispronounced Guido and is an awesome name.
When I was four years-old, my parents and I arrived in Canada from the country of pierogies and foreign jokes, Poland, in a submarine with a screendoor. Since then I’ve made my home in Mississauga, then Montreal and most recently the rest of the world.
Before traveling, I graduated with a BA in Economics and Poli Sci from McGill where Paul and I devised our plans to take over the world (edit - travel) from our shared apartment. The guy grew on me, because he was the only one who could program the VCR, so I decided to travel with him.
You can say that I’m a person who doesn’t like following the regular path, which leads me to revel in trying things that are new and unknown to me. Traveling allows me to do this consistently because of the diversity in culture and adventures readily accessible in each new country.
Paul and I have been friends for long enough that we understand what types of adventures draw us. I know that I speak for both of us when I say that ever since coming back from our last trip, our backpacks have been itching for some more miles to travel.
And so it came to be that we sat on Paul’s couch, scanning Europe maps and guidebooks for the perfect trip to take when one of us haphazardly mentioned that planning by guidebooks would never be foolproof. We sat considering this for a few seconds before both of our faces lit up. What better way to create a new adventure than by asking the locals themselves for advice.

Dzido forgot to mention that he snores like a beast. It’s an important fact to know about him if you ever travel with him. He sounds like a monkey being gutted with a butter knife (which is a brutal sound if you have never heard it!).
